Psychotherapy can greatly improve your mental well-being. Opening up to a stranger requires a great deal of bravery. Through ongoing work together, I will no longer be a stranger, but someone you can trust, and someone whose only goal is to help you feel better, in whatever way that may look. My practice provides a comfortable and private setting for you to explore the things you're struggling with.
I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Level III in the state of Oregon which means I have at least 300 educational hours in addiction, 6,000 supervised experience hours in the addiction counseling competencies, and have taken the national certification exam and national oral case presentation exam. A CADC III is the highest level an addiction counselor can be in Oregon.
I am a culturally competent clinician for first responders. I have been working alongside patrol deputies as a crisis clinician since 2014. Although not law enforcement myself, I have witnessed the difficulties police face on the street and within their departments and have seen how that can impact their personal lives. I have great respect for first responders and am a safe and confidential place for them to discuss work-related, and non-work-related issues.
Life can get rough sometimes. My goal is to help you through those rough patches, and back on your chosen path. Being non-judgemental is a high priority of mine, and having started my career in 2008 and working with a wide variety of populations and diagnoses, there is little I haven't heard from a client. while being caring and non-judgemental. Asking for help can be very difficult, but it's often the first step toward a healthier, more balanced life. We will work together to establish goals for counseling and approach the counseling process at your pace. I want to help you feel more grounded and have a greater sense of peace in your life
I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling as well as a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon. I help individuals with a variety of treatment issues, including substance abuse, depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD, trauma, and other mental health diagnoses. I utilize numerous treatment modalities, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Transtheoretical Model, Relapse Prevention, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
